How to tie the Improved Clinch Knot. The Improved Clinch Knot is a time-tested and a very popular choice for tying terminal tackle to monofilament line. This “improved” version of the good old Clinch Knot has become so popular that most fishermen have forgotten about the regular Clinch knot. The improved clinch version is also quick and easy to tie and reliable. It can be difficult to tie in lines testing greater than 25 pounds breaking strength. It is not recommended for braided line.
Let’s get started
Step 1: Start by bring the line through the eye of the hook or lure.

Step 2: Now you will want to start your loops around the line. Make 5 to 7 wraps around the line.

Step 3: Now take the “Tag End” back through the loop at the hook or lure.

Step 4: Now take the “Tag End” back through the larger loop.

Step 5: Wet your line and tighten your Improved Clinch Knot. Congratulations you just tied your first improved clinch knot.
